The Earthcircuit story...

The Earthcircuit story began as an idea many years ago. After returning to Europe from India, thoughts began to drift to the next adventure. In the news at this time was the prospect of a highway being built through Siberia and North Korea to Seoul, the capital of South Korea. This was going to replace the old cart track which had served travellers badly for a hundred years - a route best tackled in a monster Russian truck only once the ground had frozen.

We had just met a family travelling overland from South Korea through China, Russia and Turkey and we were all very interested in this new possibility of making Siberia the link between Europe and the Far East.

In the years since, while North Korea has remained isolated, the Trans-Siberian Highway will be finished very soon - finishing at Vladivostok and an international ferry port; so the idea of driving round to South Korea and Japan without off-road capabilities, serious expedition lifestyles or credit cards to match became a viable one.

Earthcircuit was born two years ago when the opportunity to participate and form a project was introduced to other like-minded individuals and groups. It has grown into a well-researched and ambitious plan that combines all our skills and experiences. Read more about our mission here.
